Let us check how such an actor who made Vadakkan veeragatha,Ambedkar,Yathra, so and so.. everlasting has delivered and is delivering such a bunch of stupid films like Thurppugulan,Mayavi,Rajamanickyam,Thommanum makkalum,Annan Thampi, etc… The factor common to these films are that mammoty appears in clown typed dresses and does some stupidness!Another sad thing is that all these films were big hits,Perhaps this might be the factor that Mammooty forgets his own value and accepts this type of films.Yeah,Ultimately success is important.But I am asking you Mammookka,…. Is this you are supposed to deliver for your true fans?
Mohanlal is also doing films mainly in commercial angle recently but the difference is that Mohanlal tries to put something new in the film and does films of different themes (Like Thanmatra,Vadakkumnathan etc).
Or Is Mammootty trying to prove something?
According to Jagathy Sreekumar Mammootty is not at all a flexible actor (Clear that he said that as Mammootty cant do comic roles well).Mammootty is trying to bring comedy in the above mentioned films.
Was that Comedy.. ? hehe ….
An important point is that Was that something to laugh?Is Mammooty doing comedy.. My answer is NO a Big NO. Last day i watched his movie Thurppugulan ,and this forced me to write this post and that film was supposed to be Comedy… But frankly for me it wasnt a even a time pass movie but a time waste movie A typical piece of Time Waste! I felt blank watching that movie.. what was that…? i asked my self.. Why is he underperforming like this?
Age?
Age is going forward.. IS that beacuse of the this fear?
Anyway looking forward,the upcoming films are also of this type.. So no hopes this year expect a better 2009!

it is better to say “Why don’t you change it”
mammooty is a big actor past , who does only epic roles .But after Rajamanikam he began to do films commercially..So he adopted many unusual roles which never suit him.He should better try more classy roles other than “Gulan or Thambi ” roles.
We can’t expect these kinds of funny and horrible acting from a man who was 3 times Bharath award winner ….

was he trying to make himself proven to be an comedian………but when we see these films we can realise he much look like a joker, aclown……………..
the man the real actor who had given life once more for dr.ambhedkhar.chandu etc ,……. had now juzz lost his own identity by acting in these films…………….

these films saw the theartre walls 4 aweek or more only due to the fact that it have the real comedians like suraj. salim kumar……….
what he like to prove by acting in thses films????????
the actor who had lived in films and had been a real passion in 90s films for his s erious role in films like yathra,oru sayam kalam, adiozhukkukal,mrikaya etc have falled so cheaply to act in these films……… how will he realise what we all want from him!!!!!!!

Linjo… u r making a valid point.. that many of the films mentioned above are crap…
But these films are big hits right..? If audience want such roles from a great actor like mammootty, what is so much wrong with mammootty doing these films… ?

I only said that as a lover of Mammottys old films like Alkootathil Thaniye,Veeragatha,Videyan, I want to see that kind of Film from Mammotty again .And this is what Mammotty is not doing because of his stupid acts!Sreenatha .. STill there leaves a lots of Good and brilliant cinema lovers in Kerala what abt them?
